Industrial Law - Dismissal — Union submitted that the Hearing Officer's ruling that the worker should be paid $200.00 for loss of employment could not be held as fair and reasonable and that this decision be put aside and that the worker be reinstated without loss of pay — Board held that the dismissal was fair — Appeal for the worker to be reinstated without loss of pay dismissed.

1 The Board of Review met on 27th May 1977 and 17th June, 1977. The Board considered the Appeal made on behalf of Julius Coates by the Antigua Beach Workers' Union in the following areas:

• (i) That the Hearing Officer's ruling in 9 (ii) cannot be held as fair and reasonable.

• (ii) That the Hearing Officer's decision be put aside and the worker be reinstated without loss of pay.

2 Conclusions & Reasons Therefore:

3 Paragraph 9 (ii) of the Hearing, Officer's decision reads:

“As compensation for the loss of his employment under the circumstances outlined above, the worker shall be paid the sum of $200.00.”
