Facts: The main issues were whether the appellant broke contract by absenting herself from work and whether the appellant was liable under s. 19(1) of the Ordinance. Evidence revealed that the appellant was an Executive Officer in the state run Electricity Department. She absented herself during a strike. Under s 19(1) any workman who absented himself so as to deprive the public of the essential service was liable.
